Yousuf Karsh on Anwar Hossain:
"My eyes were repeatedly drawn to Anwar's photographs, for they displayed a sensitivity, compassion, as well photographic skill. Anwar's age seemed almost too young to portray the depth of feeling and understanding his photographs showed. Each of his prints told complete story - a consummate chapter of life not only of contemporary Bangladesh, but of conditions in much of the world today. Fortunately, his work has come to the attention of photography world at a time when photography is appreciate as fine art. Hopefully, Anwar Hossain will continue with devotion to apply his talent for the enrichment of the photographic art." Ottawa, Canada, 1980.

Foreword by Moinuddin Khaled

Wonders are still spreading all around us as we place our steps anywhere in Bangladesh; let that be in any town or village. Life here flows in all directions and nature plays it’s part, humbly. All human faces around us, genuinely reflect of what our archaeological history was and also of our present. Sensing all these, and being part with these, one can very easily become a poet. Placing his eagle eyes on all those going around him or to freeze a smile of a teen age girl, catch life about. The camera of Anwar Hossain always stood ready to capture the inner threads of all those beauties, for today and for the history. At his 60s, Anwar is still actively behind his cameras to get the best essence and blend of man and nature.

Foreword by Shikoa Nazneen

A meandering road to a diary..

Dark slimy paths, burnt fields or bushes, boat and boatman. Man. Amongst them, two crows are perching on a suddenly high proud branch of bamboo, gazing at the desolate deep dark sky. He takes the picture of the shimmering murmuring water. An illusive portrait in the morning sun, a face looking at the sky-light. He saw the bird which had flown from that sky in the fifties in the suburb on the Titus river's bank. This gentle whispers can be heard from his images. The lonely standing of the soil colored cow, in all our hunger's womb and inside our amazingly beautiful morning; sunk under field water in silence. A garland of shiuli flowers inside a shabby old building, strangely white and swinging in depression. Why is this depression?
